Tele-Tag (2021-June 11th, 2022)

Performance, Urban Intervention 54’00’’
In collaboration with Madison Hotchko, Selden Paterson, Leo Leventhal and more.

In this performance two groups performed a walk connecting two old Pay-Phone locations on a half mile stretch of the California Avenue in Chicago, IL. Each group had a device called “Tele-Tag”, which was used for communication between them, and a can of spray paint, which was used to mark ‘geotags’ relayed to the other group via UHF frequency. Their path intersected halfway through their journey, at which point they swapped devices and moved on to the Pay-Phone the other group began their walk. Having arrived there, the information was shared and the circuit closed - ending the performance. All smartphone devices were shut off during the entirety of the walk.
